How does Odarid actually get rid of the smell?

It's not fragrance covering it up. Odarid uses a hydrogen peroxide formula that breaks down the uric acid crystals and odour-causing bacteria at the source. Spray until the area's fully saturated, leave it to work, no scrubbing needed, and once it's dry the smell is gone for good rather than creeping back.

Will one bottle cover indoor accidents

Yes for anything indoors, carpet, rugs, upholstery, bedding, hard floors and concrete are all fair game for Odarid. Artificial grass is a different job though: urineFREE is built to reach down into the turf backing where the smell actually sits, so that's the one to grab for the lawn.

My cat or dog keeps going back to the same spot, will this actually stop it?

Yes. Pets return to the same spot because they can still smell trace pheromones long after we can't. Odarid's hydrogen peroxide formula breaks those down completely, so there's no scent trail left to draw them back.

How many applications does old, stubborn cat urine take?

For older, ingrained urine you'll usually want two heavy applications. Spray it on generously, let it work until the foaming stops, then check if any smell's left — if it is, give it a second round. That foaming is Odarid breaking down the built-up uric acid, so needing a second go on tough old stains is completely normal.

How do I know it's actually working?

On old urine you'll see it foam as it works — that's the hydrogen peroxide breaking down the uric acid and bacteria causing the smell. Once it stops foaming and the smell's gone, it's done. Fresher accidents may not foam as much since the bacteria hasn't built up yet, but you'll still notice the smell lifting as it dries.

Can I use it as an everyday spray cleaner too?

Yes — it's got surfactants in it so it cleans well beyond pet accidents. Use it neat, or dilute about 100ml into a bucket of warm water for mopping floors or wiping out cages and crates.

Will it get rid of other stains, like wine, coffee or blood?

Yes, it's not just for pet accidents — it handles wine, coffee, blood, food spills and vomit too. Same method: saturate, leave it to work, then blot or rinse.

Is there a natural way to get rid of pet stains and smells?

Yes — that's really what Odarid is. Instead of masking the smell with fragrance, its hydrogen peroxide formula breaks down into water and oxygen as it works, targeting the actual cause (uric acid crystals and odour-causing bacteria) rather than covering it up.

Can I use Odarid in a carpet cleaning or shampoo machine?

We'd recommend against it — running it through a machine dilutes it and cuts down how well it works. Spray it on neat first, leave it to break down the odour, then go over the area with your carpet machine as normal once that's done.

Can I use Odarid on artificial grass or turf?

Yes — Odarid's hydrogen peroxide formula is safe to use outdoors on turf. If turf odour is a regular issue though, our urineFREE Artificial Grass Cleaner is purpose-built for it and might suit you better long-term.

Is it safe to use on wooden or timber floors?

Yes, Odarid can be used on wooden floors. As with any new surface, we'd suggest testing a small, hidden patch first to make sure there's no reaction with the finish before treating the whole area.

Can pets go back on the treated area straight away

Keep pets and kids off until the area until it is fully dry, usually a few hours, longer in cold or damp weather. Once it's dry, it's safe for the whole household, pets included.

Is this just a stronger air freshener?

No. Air fresheners mask the smell with fragrance. Odarid's hydrogen peroxide formula actually breaks down the bacteria and uric acid causing it, so there's nothing left to creep back once the scent fades, unlike a supermarket spray.

Will this bleach or damage my carpet or fabric?

No, Odarid is a clear, colour-safe formula that's gentle on standard carpets and fabrics. Because materials and dyes vary, we'd always suggest a quick patch test on a hidden corner first.

Do I need to spot-test first?

Yes, always spot-test, especially anywhere that's already had other cleaning products used on it. Odarid won't affect carpet or fabric in its natural, untreated state, but we can't guarantee how it'll react with whatever's already been applied, so a quick test on an inconspicuous spot first is the safe move.

Can I spray it straight into the litter tray?

You can, but go easy — if the litter stays constantly soaked it may be a bit much for sensitive paws. Best as a periodic freshen-up rather than a daily soak.

Is hydrogen peroxide the same as bleach?

No — they're different things. Hydrogen peroxide breaks down into water and oxygen, which is why Odarid won't bleach or discolour most carpets and fabrics (though we'd still always suggest a patch test first). Bleach is much harsher on colours and fibres.

Is Odarid an enzyme cleaner? Is it safe for my pets?

No, Odarid uses hydrogen peroxide rather than enzymes — a different technology that also breaks down uric acid and odour-causing bacteria at the source. It's safe for pets and family once the treated area is fully dry, the same as our enzyme-based products like urineFREE.

How long does NZ shipping take?

It really does work

Ugh, that old urine stain was a real headache, but I finally got rid of it! Seriously, this stuff worked like a charm on my dog's mess. Perfect gift set!

Kit is a great starter with both products and uv torch. I found I had to play around with the angles or cover my hand over lamp to help see urine as my carpet is a muilti colour so hard to tell anyway. Once I used a few times it came obvious. Is shocking to see how much the dogs have marked!

Replacing my Pet Pong Begone.

Smells great if you get the fragrance one. Seems to work well. I’ve been using it for a few weeks. I normally use Wet and Forget’s “Pet Pong Begone’ but I think this one actually works better, and it’s cheaper & smells better! Only downside to my order was the length of time it took and the fact that I had to follow up on the order myself.
